SAFETY SERVICES

Consider our extensive safety programs to assure that your concrete cutting services are safely delivered, protecting your customers and you – and most importantly, allowing your employees to safely go home to their families at the end of the day.

Safety Training

Safety is important.

Every employer wants to have the right program and procedures in place to assure the safety of its employees. There are many reasons. The most obvious and important one is to protect your cutters from job hazards that result in injuries and illnesses, or worse. No one ever wants to be in the position of notifying an employee's family of an injury or fatality. Of less significance, but still important, no employer needs notification of non-compliance and receipt of safety violations from OSHA.

So it just makes sense to be safe – from a personal level, as well as from an economic perspective.

And the single most effective approach to keeping your operators safe is training. It's an investment that you can not afford not to make. Our safety team will train your cutters on safety procedures specific to concrete cutting operations. We'll provide both hands on and classroom instruction to train your employees on the safe way of doing things. And we'll instruct them on their responsibility and authority for stopping a job when an unsafe condition exists or is about to occur. They'll also understand the financial impact on your company resulting from not only the immediate impact of non-compliance safety violations, but also the more significant long term impacts of lost work associated with a poor safety reputation.

So let us help by developing and tailoring a safety training program uniquely suited to your company and your operators. Safety training courses include:

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
  • Confined Spaces in Construction
  • And many more

Safety Evaluation and Monitoring

Our safety team can provide you with a complete evaluation of your organization's safety program. We'll examine your procedures, training records, and the potential job site hazards. Based on the results of the evaluation, we'll offer our recommendations for improving your company's safety program.

Once any necessary safety improvements are implemented, we'll continue to assist in keeping your program on track by monitoring your employees and operations to assure compliance with applicable standards. We'll facilitate safety meetings, provide toolbox talks, observe job site safety procedures, and guide your managers as they implement appropriate safety corrective actions.

Near Miss / Incident Logging & Tracking

Our safety staff can give you the necessary tools to manage, track, and accurately report safety near misses and incidents. We'll use your job site safety events to identify performance strengths and weaknesses. And we'll show you how to present these safety strengths and weaknesses as “Lessons Learned” for your employees so that they, your company, and your customers can benefit from your accumulated safety experience.

OSHA Recordables / Reportables

Let us assist with the management of your OSHA Logs. Our services range from providing the guidance needed to properly create and maintain your logs of recordable injuries and illnesses to a comprehensive turn key operation where we fully manage your logs for you.

Job Hazard Analyses

Assure that each and every job is safely planned and executed according to the job specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). A quality JHA drives the planning process and takes into consideration all aspects of the scope of work – equipment, tools, personnel, site specific needs and challenges, and scheduling constraints. From small job to large complex contracts, the JHA paints a picture of the work to be done. Once it is developed, it serves as a fluid document to guide you and your employees to safe completion of the job.

Concrete Cutting Consultants, LLC can provide the direction and assistance needed to prepare and follow quality Job Hazard Analyses. We'll show you how to examine the job site and the collective ongoing operations in order to keep your workers, as well as others on site, safe.

Respirable Crystalline Silica Exposure Control Plan

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued a final rule to curb lung cancer, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney disease in America's workers by limiting their exposure to respirable crystalline silica. The rule is comprised of two standards, one for Construction and one for General Industry and Maritime.

Both standards contained in the final rule became effective on June 23, 2016. Compliance with the Construction standard begins June 23, 2017.

The following are examples of topics to be included in the exposure control plan:

  • Engineering Controls, Work Practices, and Respiratory Protection Used to Limit Employee Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica
  • Air and Personal Monitoring for Certain Job Tasks
  • Housekeeping Measures Used to Limit Employee Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica
  • Procedures Used to Restrict Access to Work Areas
  • Training on Respirable Crystalline Silica Hazards for Employees

Compliance with this new OSHA standard is a must for all concrete cutting service providers. We can guide you and your organization with development of your silica exposure control plan, assuring that your organization is in compliance with the standard and that your employees' health is protected from this hazardous material.

Safety Manuals

A quality safety manual documents your organization's safety culture and demonstrates the safety commitment at all organizational levels throughout your company. It allows for your safety program to be clearly communicated to your employees, your customers, and your subcontractors. We can assist in creating the document that uniquely defines the safety behaviors and expectations of your company.

Medical Surveillance

Know the health status of your employees – from the time you hire them and throughout their employment with your company. A good medical surveillance program (MSP) gives you the information you need to know and to understand the medical status of each of your employees. This information allows you to make sound decisions regarding important programs such as respiratory protection and driver qualification.

Our staff of professionals will establish a cost-effective medical surveillance program for your organization. We'll partner with your management team to identify the employee health parameters to be tracked and we'll research organizations in your area that offer MSP services. Our report will document the findings and recommend the right MSP program for you and your organization, while assuring confidentiality of employee personal medical information.

Hazard Communication

Employers who have hazardous chemicals in their workplaces are required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), 29 CFR 1910.1200, to implement a hazard communication program. The program must include labels on containers of hazardous chemicals, safety data sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals, and training for workers. Each employer must also describe in a written program how it will meet the requirements of the HCS in each of these areas.

Our safety team will conduct a full hazard evaluation of your operation, create the required program documents, and provide all necessary HCS training to your employees. The result will be a safer and healthier work environment for your operators and peace of mind for you and your management team.
